Special Book Sale

The Friends are honored to host a conversation with Joe Castiglione on May 9th. To celebrate, the special sale this month will focus on Sports! Find books about baseball, football, soccer, and many other games. Learn about the practice and history of sports, and the personalities that have shaped them. All of these reasonably priced books can be found in the bookcase in the main hall and just inside the Friends’ Book Shop.

Ongoing Book Sale

The Friends conduct ongoing sales of books, movies, puzzles and more in the Friends’ Book Shop. Located in the corridor between the Main Desk and the Children’s Room, the Friends’ Book Shop honors longtime volunteer Jean Christensen. Here you will find very reasonably-priced adult fiction, non-fiction, and AV materials, along with fiction for teens and tweens. Another bookcase just around the corner houses books for tween and teen readers, and children's books are offered for sale in a low bookcase at the entrance to the Children's Room. Sales of special themes or formats are held periodically, so visit frequently to see what's new!

Book Donations

The Friends greatly appreciate donations of very gently-used books, CDs, or puzzles. Current fiction, biographies, coffee table books, and topics such as history or politics are always in demand. We cannot accept textbooks, encyclopedias, VHS or cassette tapes, or anything in poor condition. Donations should be brought inside to the library's circulation desk at any time during operating hours, as books deposited in the outdoor bins go to unaffiliated for-profit agencies. Please call in advance to make arrangements for large-scale donations.

Please Note: Books left in the bins in the library parking lot are collected by outside organizations and do not benefit the library or the town of Marshfield.
