For the Thanksgiving holiday, the library will be closing early at 12 noon on Wednesday, November 27th, and will be closed on Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th. We will be open our usual hours on Saturday, November 30th.

How Do I Use a Computer or Internet?

We have public computers and free wifi that you can use, as well as plenty of outlets throughout the library. We also offer an optional, in-library use laptop when you use the Quiet Study Room or the Ventress Library Conference Room.

Public Computers

Any member of the public can use our public computers to check email, browse the internet, use Microsoft Office software, and more. If you need assistance using the computer, the reference librarian would be happy to help you.

Use your library card number to log into the computer. If you don't have an OCLN library card, you can sign up for a library card or ask the reference librarian for a computer guest pass.

Headphones and external DVD drives are available from the reference desk upon request.

If you need extra space, need to make one or more long phone calls, or need use one of our computers for a video call, you may reserve the Ventress Library Conference Room and request the use of a library laptop. The Quiet Study Room is also available to use with a laptop on a drop-in basis. The desktop computers in the public computer area may not be used for video calls.

Please note that the public computers shut down 15 minutes before the library closes. If you expect to require assistance to use the computer, we recommend that you arrive no later than 1 hour before closing.

Visitors using the public computers to access the internet must follow our Internet Acceptable Use Policy.
