For the Thanksgiving holiday, the library will be closing early at 12 noon on Wednesday, November 27th, and will be closed on Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th. We will be open our usual hours on Saturday, November 30th.

The Friends are partnering with the good people of Marshfield to restock the Children’s Room with high quality playthings just in time for the holidays! The Children’s Librarian has curated a wishlist with some of the most needed items for learning and play which see high usage throughout the year. We have donated a wooden kitchen set and other major pieces, but many of the smaller toys are worn out. We’re asking for your help in upgrading or replacing some of the fun stuff kids and their caregivers enjoy during visits to the library.

The Friends greatly appreciate donations of very gently-used books, CDs, or puzzles. Current fiction, biographies, coffee table books, and topics such as history or politics are always in demand. We cannot accept textbooks, encyclopedias, VHS or cassette tapes, or anything in poor condition. Donations should be brought inside to the library's circulation desk at any time during operating hours, as books deposited in the outdoor bins go to unaffiliated for-profit agencies. Please email the Friends at friendsoftheventress@gmail.com in advance to make arrangements for large-scale donations.
Please Note: Books left in the bins in the library parking lot are collected by outside organizations and do not benefit the library or the town of Marshfield.
